ACE IT: Accelerated Credit Enrolment in Industry training

ACE IT Auto Service Technician

Overseen by the Industry Trades Authority (www.itabc.ca), students complete their work under the supervision of a “Red Seal” certified Mechanic and Vancouver Island University instructor.

Students will complete six courses towards graduation (24 credits). These include: AST 12 A, B, C, D. and Work Experience 12 A, B. Students require at least 50% to pass these courses.

Students who complete the program with over 70% will receive credit from Vancouver Island University, their Level 1 certification and work-based hours recognized by the ITA.

• providing students with a smooth transition from school to work
• enhancing students’ existing trade-specific job-readiness skills, or providing
opportunities for the development of new skills
• providing students with the opportunity to obtain a Level 1 technical training
certification in a given trade
• helping prepare students to enter the world of work with the skills attitudes,
and sense of responsibility necessary to be successful”
