January PAC meeting minutes are now available to read online. To aid in communication with our families we hope that you find this website informative and useful. The school district is moving towards a new authouring system for the school websites and you will see changes made in the Spring of 2012. In the meantime you might like to look at Cedar Grove School - from the Principal's Point of View to keep up to date with what is going on right now. Rather than doing newsletters right now, we are using the principal's blog to keep you up to date with what is going on. The blog articles are also posted each day in the entrance halllway across from the office.  Minutes from all of the Parent Advisory Council meetings are also posted each month. If you have comments or suggestions on how we can improve this site, please feel free to contact us. Family Literacy Day on Thursday this week (February 2) - Family feast of muffins, coffee, hot chocolate and juice. See you tomorrow at 8 am Cedar Grove Library Available On-line If you would like to access the Cedar Grove Library, please click on the image or this link. This will take you to the School District main library page where you can then select Cedar Grove. From there you will be able to search for books in our collection. Over time, the students may get log on IDs and Passwords to allow them to see their activity, search for books and put them on hold. For now, we have implemented the search and find options. Rainy Days/Weather Warnings/School Closures Even though the rainy season is upon us, we still like to give students the opportunity to get fresh air and play outside as much as possible. Please send your children to school with proper footwear and outerwear so that they can continue to enjoy being outside. Thank you. This is the time of year that we may have school closures or disruptions to the school day due to severe weather/snow and power outages. If it looks like snow or there are extreme wind warnings, and you are not going to be at home on such a day, please ensure we have a contact name, phone number and place to which we can send your child on such a day if we need to dismiss early. Also, on these days, listen to Mountain FM (107.5/104.7), CBC Radio (690 AM) for information about buses. And... here is what the School District has asked us to communicate about this important policy... SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 46 (SUNSHINE COAST) INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:INCLEMENT WEATHER During the time of the season when inclementweather may affect the safety and welfare ofstudents and, in particular, when snowy weatherhas the potential to cause classes to be postponed or some School District No. 46 services to be suspended, current information will be updated continuously on the Sunshine Coast School District No. 46 website at: www.sd46.bc.ca The Superintendent of Schools will also provide CKAY FM (91.7) with information about the status of our facilities and transportation services by 7:00 AM, if there is a concern. Volunteers Attention Volunteers: It is SD 46 policy that all volunteers have criminal record checks done every five years.  Please check in the office to ensure that your's is up to date--we can give you a letter to waive the $20 fee.Thank you for your cooperation regarding this matter.
