Cedar Grove Elementary School serves appoximately 220 K-7 students with a staff of 21 teachers, a principal, and 15 support staff. We are situated in the community of Gibsons, a 40-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver, BC). We work hard to be a welcoming school
community and appreciate the hard working parent volunteers we have that allow us to offer many enriching programs for our students. Our goal is to meet the varied educational needs of all students and to have every student try to reach their highest potential. At Cedar Grove, behaviour is guided by 2 overall rules:
*KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET TO YOURSELF
*IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE OR HELPFUL, DON'T SAY ANYTHING
At Cedar Grove, students and staff demonstrate socially responsible behaviour by practising our Key Words:
Cooperation, Kindness and Responsibility and Respect
Our school goals this year are:
1. To increase primary and intermediate students’ achievement in literacy, with a focus on writing.
2. To guide our students to behave in a more socially responsible manner that is safe and respectful of self, others and the environment.
