The video is shown at the Grad Banquet and again at the intermission of the Grad Ceremonies.Video images and photographs will be collected by the Grad Class. The images will be used for creating Grad slide shows, collages, community publicity flyers, and other displays. The video and photograph collections may also be distributed as a souvenir to Grads and their families. In order to have your photos included in the video you must sign the Grad Video Release Form.
The school’s policy regarding participation in the Commencement Ceremonies (Grad Ceremonies) is as follows:
1. Participants must be a student at Elphinstone Secondary School
2. Participants must fully meet graduation requirements. This means that the student must have passed all courses required for graduation. A mark of “Incomplete” or “Fail” in any required course will result the student being disqualified. In provincially examinable courses, the school mark will be used to determine eligibility. For courses delivered electronically students must have received a passing grade on or before the last day of classes in May.
Students of Grade 12 age not meeting graduation requirements within Elphinstone's timetable will be enrolled as a Grade 11 student until such time as we receive verification of a passing grade in all required external course(s).
The school would like to avoid making a decision about eligibility at the last minute, so it is very important that a passing grade is maintained and that your son or daughter is well prepared for final exams, which will be factored into the final mark of each course.
If you have any questions regarding eligibility please feel free to contact the school.
