To be eligible for the Honour Roll, a student must be taking at least seven courses over the year and meet the following criteria:

• have at least a 75% average in all their courses
• have no mark lower than a C (60%)

Students who meet the above criteria but with a 70%-74.99% average will be given Honourable Mention.  The Honour Roll/Honourable Mention will be displayed and distributed to newspapers for publication each term.

Students will receive an end-of-year award if they have been on the Honour Roll all terms.

PASSPORT TO EDUCATION

The Ministry of Education gives awards to the top students in each of grades 10, 11 and 12.  These are in the form of stamps which are redeemable for tuition credits at post-secondary institutions.  They have no cash value.  The number of stamps we may award is determined by the Ministry from our September enrollment and cannot be exceeded. Awards are given as follows:

Grade 10        250.00
Grade 11        250.00
Grade 12        500.00

Total possible  $1000.00

The top students in each grade will be determined by the administration.  The calculation will be based on the final mark of all courses a student is enrolled in.  An average percentage will be calculated and the top students in each grade will be awarded stamps, according to the number allocated to us by the Ministry.  In the event of a tie, other criteria such as attendance and citizenship may be used. These criteria apply to those students in the new Graduation Program.  Students on the 1995 graduation program are subject to the old criteria.  Please ask at the office if you have questions.
